On arrival in Surama, you will receive a warm welcome from a staff member and have a refreshing snack then discuss your itinerary to confirm any changes, then settle into your accommodation. Your guide will then take you for a village tour to visit the local school, medical centre and church along with some village houses before having lunch .This Tour is approximately 3 km. (L, D)

Overnight at Surama Eco-lodge

Rise before dawn for a walk across the savannah and then a challenging climb up the Surama Mountain in the cool morning air. This is the best time to observe bird and wildlife along the trail. Breakfast will be served at a look out point which affords incredible views across the village and savannah to the Pakaraima Mountains.
Return to village for lunch this tour is approx 8km.

And then in the cool afternoon take a walk across the savannah and through the rain. forest to the Burro Burro River. Tonight overnight in a hammock at the Carahaa Landing Camp. (B, L, D)

Overnight at Carahaa Landing Camp

Today your guides will paddle you up the Burro Burro River to observe wildlife and birdlife. Stop along the way to swim or take walks into the rainforest. In the late afternoon watch or join in as your guides construct a camp on the river bank. Enjoy a dinner cooked over an open fire before spending the night in your hammock camp. (B, L, D)

Overnight at Carahaa Landing Camp
Today continue paddling and exploring the Burro- Burro River before returning to Carahaa Landing Camp and then walk back to Surama. (B, L, D)
Overnight at Surama Eco-lodge

After an early breakfast, a vehicle will transfer you back out to the main road and along it to the beginning of the harpy trail. After forty-five minutes of level trail walking through the rain forest we will come to a very large “Brazilian Cedar” tree which is home to a harpy eagle nest. Depending on the age of the chick, we will move around quietly and slowly to get the best view.

Return to the lodge for lunch and discuss with your guide what is a good activity. Either a visit to the Pootoo daytime roosting site or a trail walk. (B, L, D)

Morning free to relax or explore the area around the village. After Lunch depart Surama. (B)
